At Security Public Library, our mission is to meet the evolving educational, cultural, informational, and recreational needs of the public by providing modern library resources and services. That is why we are so excited to bring our brand new Makerspace to the Security-Widefield Community. This new space features state-of-the-art Science and Technology resources and equipment, free for public use.*
*While the Makerspace is free to use, there may be a cost associated with some of the materials.

Our Makerspace tools and equipment are available to use for library card holders. An Introductory Class is required before use of the 3D Printers, Glowforge, and Cricut machine.
All Makerspace users must sign a Waiver and Terms of Use Agreement and agree to the Makerspace Guidelines before any Makerspace equipment or resources may be used.
Children in the Makerspace:
- For Makerspace patrons aged 17 and under, parents must sign a youth waiver.
- Patrons aged 15 and under may use the Makerspace if supervised by an adult certified in the use of any equipment used.
- Children under the age of 2 are not permitted in the Makerspace without supervision.
Step 1: The first step is to complete an Introductory Class. You can sign up here.
- Select the Introduction Class for the machine you would like to use on the date that works for your schedule.
- Select the Number of people attending. (Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.)
- Click on "Begin Registration."
- On the next page, enter your details and click "Register."
- A confirmation email will be sent to you with the class details, and a link for you to use should you need to cancel.
- Attend your Introduction Class, then continue to Step 2.
Step 2: After the Introductory Class has been completed, you are welcome to come in and work on your projects by signing up here.

No Introductory Class is need to use this piece of equipment!
Two ways to use the printer*:
1. Need help designing your poster? Book the machine during open session hours.
2. Have a completed design and just need to print? Walk-in service (no need to register). If staff is available, we can print your design while you wait. If staff is not available, we will call you when your print is ready.
*Please note: All files must be in either .pdf or .jpg format.
With unparalleled color and fine line detail, the ecolor+ series 2 Poster Printer makes it simple to produce high-quality posters, banners, decals, and more. Use the proprietary design software from your home or the expanded version on our Makerspace computer. You can also use Canva or other favorite design platform. Just bring a .pdf, .png, or .jpg file to quickly print your design! Posters can be up to 24" wide and however long you would like!
