National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, empowering approach to creative writing. The challenge: draft an entire novel in just one month. For 30 wild, exciting, surprising days, you get to lock away your inner editor, let your imagination take over, and just create!

Think you can't do it? Check out this article about some famous authors who have published the book they started during NaNoWriMo and have used some of the resources found below!

Stop by the library in November and receive a Writing Goals Pledge Card to get you started on your writing journey. You can also pick up a motivational water bottle or coffee cup to keep you hydrated as you write the month away. Before you leave, sign our "Future Author Autograph" board so we can get your autograph BEFORE you get famous! Security Public Library would not exist without writers...we need your stories!

Writing a novel alone can be difficult, even for seasoned writers. NaNoWriMo helps you track your progress, set milestones, connect with other writers in a vast community, and participate in events that are designed to make sure you finish your novel. Sign up and use is always free!
