National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, empowering approach to creative writing. The challenge: draft an entire novel in just one month. For 30 wild, exciting, surprising days, you get to lock away your inner editor, let your imagination take over, and just create!

Think you can't do it? Check out this article about some famous authors who have published the book they started during NaNoWriMo and have used some of the resources found below! https://www.bustle.com/articles/46900-how-do-you-win-nanowrimo-these-10-authors-succeeded-so-steal-their-tips

We would like to invite the next generation of novel writers to stop by the library and fill your "writer’s toolkit" with a host of valuable resources that could help you further your project. Find worksheets that will help you work out plots, characters, or timelines as well as fun and inspirational notebooks, pencils and stickers that will help you keep going when "writer's block" hits.

Sign up with nanowrimo.org to be entered to win one of two gorgeous hourglasses that will help keep you on track with your writing goals (10 minutes or more per day is recommended). Send us your confirmation email (spl@wsd3.org) or bring it into the library for your chance to win!

NaNoWriMo has so many tools, resources, and collaborative groups available to help that you will never be alone in your quest to write the next great American novel!
