Adult Winter Reading Program
January 9 - February 28th 2023

Fall down the rabbit hole of reading this winter with our Alice in Wonderland themed Adult Winter Reading Challenge! Record how much time you spend reading and win prizes along the way. All it takes is 15 minutes a day to win! Find more details and reading logs on 2023 Adult Winter Reading Challenge page or at the Library beginning January 9th!

The 100 Book Challenge is back!!

One New Year resolution that it would be fun to stick to....reading!! We want to help by challenging you to read 100 books by the end of 2023. If you are successful, there will be a reward waiting for you! Think that goal is a little unattainable? We have options for you! For more information, please visit our 100 Book Challenge page.

Take-and-Make Craft kits are first come, first serve and supplies are limited. All materials except for basic supplies (hot glue, markers, etc.) are provided. 

In-Person Crafts will take place once a month at the library. Space is limited and registration is required. 

Friends' Night Out

Join us for an evening of relaxation and pampering! We'll have take and make crafts, essential oils, refreshments, trivia, Blind Date with a Book, and more! The first 75 people through the door will also receive a goodie bag, so grab your friends and don't be late for this FREE event! (Please note, this is event is for adults 18 years and up)

Movies at the Senior Center

January 11th @ 1pm "Elvis"

February 8th @ 1pm "42"

March 8th @ 1pm "Where the Crawdads Sing"

April 12th @ 1pm "Top Gun: Maverick"

Head down to the Senior Center (5745 Southmoor Dr. 80817) every month to watch a new release movie for free! Complimentary refreshments provided.

Children's Programs

Preschool Storytime

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays @ 10:30 am. Join us each week for new stories, crafts, friends, and fun! 

Little Bookworms Storytime (0-3 yr olds)

Thursdays @ 9:30 am. Although all ages are welcome at our Preschool Storytimes, we invite our youngest patrons to this special program geared just for them! We focus on songs, movement, and having fun!

Messy Monday

February 6th @ 9:30 am and 10:30 am. Children ages 2-5 and their caregiver are invited to this fun and messy once a month program! We focus on the process and the product as we explore paint, sand, clay, and more! Sign up is required for this program. Due to its messy nature, we keep attendance numbers low and registration is required. To sign up, call us at 719-391-3197.


February 4th and 18th @ 10:00 am. Families are invited to come to the Children's Room to build, explore, and create! New challenge each month!

Homeschool Crew

February 15th @ 11:15 am at S.A. Education Center (930 Leta Dr.).

Each month we have fun STEAM activities that revolve around a different theme. Have some fun and meet some fellow homeschool friends! This program is off site. Please call us at 719-391-3197 for more information. 

Grab and Go Crafts

January 3rd, 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Join Security Public Library's Teen Activity Board! Enjoy free food. Earn volunteer hours. Influence teen collections and activity development.

Teen Activity Night

January 10th, 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Come participate in this month's activity—planned by teens, for teens.

Teen Movie Night

January 27th, 5:30 pm - end of movie

Grab your friends and come watch a movie at the library after hours! Wear your comfy clothes, snag a bag of popcorn, grab a drink, and watch this month's PG or PG-13 feature.


Other cool stuff

Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) One-Shot

January 28th, 10:00 am-2:00 pm 

Let's start off the New Year on a "Chaotic Good" note with a heist! "One-shot" sessions are compact games, completed in one afternoon! Registration is REQUIRED due to space limitations, so please call 719-391-3190 or email to reserve your spot!
