Children's Reading Program

Tails and Tales @ Security Public Library

We are so excited for this year's Summer Reading Program!

Kids PreK-5th grade are invited to do our Bead to Read program. Register here and print your own log or come in and register. When you come in make sure to pick up your free brag tag and necklace. Kids will then use their log to track reading minutes and can earn a bead to add to their necklace for every 60 minutes of reading. Finish your log to earn a fun extra prize- you can also keep going to enter into our grand prize drawing.

We will also have several different types of programming, both in person and remote!

Read OUT Loud: Join us for outdoor story time on the library patio Wednesdays and Fridays @ 10:30 starting June 9th. We will be doing the same stories each week so please choose either Wednesday or Friday.

Take and Make: During Take and Make weeks we will have a fun activity that you can pick up at the library and take home to make! Check out our calendar to see which weeks these are.

Park and Make: During Park and Make weeks we invite you to join us on the library either the Tuesday or the Thursday of that week on the library patio between 10-12 for a fun activity. Please check out the calendar to see which weeks these will take place on.

But what about our youngest patrons? There's something for them too! We invite our patrons 0-3 and their caregivers to participate in our Tails and Tales program too! Pick up a bingo card with fun activities to do together- or print here- and then bring it back for a fun prize! Please come to the library to register for this program or email with your child's name, age, and a contact phone number.
